Use Visual Methods to Design Any Learning Experience

Learn to use visual methods to facilitate successful learning design experiences.

The Learning Environment Design certification program equips you to lead others through the process of designing experiences that help people learn. We provide the complete training that equips you to work with diverse groups in education and business to envision, design, build, and deliver successful learning experiences. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, you will earn the Certified Learning Environment Architect (CLEA) credential.

Obtaining the CLEA gives you the ability to set yourself apart as a learning designer and facilitator in your industry or organization. The CLEA program designates you as a leader in the design of diverse learning environments including courses, training programs, support systems, and physical learning spaces. This makes you a highly competitive designer, leader, and facilitator where organizations are recognizing the importance of quality learning experiences.

As part of this program, you will discover how to use Learning Environment Modeling, a visual learning design system that enhances the way you work with individuals and teams to create successful learning experiences.

What makes this program so unique?

In this certification program, you’ll learn to master an innovative visualization and design system called Learning Environment Modeling.

Learning Environment Modeling (LEM) is a visual planning system that makes designing learning experiences like courses and education programs simple and effective. Using a simple set of symbols, you can create and communicate ideas for designing any learning experience quickly and accurately.

This visual approach makes designing learning experiences fast, fun, and easy.

Why become a Certified Learning

Environment Architect (CLEA)?

In today’s digital economy, you are only as good as your network. CLEA professionals receive more than a professional certification — they join a network of experienced professionals and gain ongoing access to resources and training that supports their work.

This certification program is also unique in style of instruction and practice in that it spans a wide spectrum of learning environments.

As part of their preparation, CLEA participants learn how to design everything from online corporate training and educational degree programs to face-to-face classes or workshops and marketing campaigns using educational videos. This helps participants leverage diverse and flexible design skills to create optimal learning experiences.

Moreover, the program combines the best of academic and professional worlds, giving you the necessary theoretical foundations in learning design science but with an emphasis on real-world applications.

How long will the program take to complete?

Each course is approximately one month. We recommend planning on between seven and nine months to complete the entire program.

What forms will my CLEA certification come in?

You will receive an online badge and an official certificate of completion from ILED.
